ZeroManual watering

PhytoSensors read moisture, light, and temperature in real time. The system waters only when plants need it — never more, never less.

↓ 40%Operational cost

Automated irrigation eliminates over-watering waste and reduces the need for routine horticultural visits, cutting long-term maintenance costs significantly.

↑ Plant healthLong-term vitality

Sensor-driven decisions mean each plant gets precisely calibrated care. Healthier root systems, longer lifespans, and far fewer replacements.

Origin

The original Green Divider design at Etsy Headquarters

The original Green Divider design at Etsy Headquarters.

A decade in
the making.

The idea for the Green Divider was hatched in 2014 inside of a dusty walk up in Bushwick, Brooklyn. Botanic designer Adam Besheer had spent the last few years filling office spaces with plants, and by now had enough experience to keep running into the same problem. Designing with plants was mostly limited to clusters of pots around the workspace. There were no tools to bring plant design into the built environment in an impactful way that didn't require a huge infrastructural investment. So he sketched out a few ideas and got to work.

The Green Divider is now many iterations and over a decade of experience in the making. Many lessons were learned along the way, and barring a few detours the design kept improving and… simplifying. Our guiding focus has been on how to keep plants thriving, with minimal effort, and in a way that doesn't interrupt the aesthetics of a space. Combining soft, organic wood with a sleek sculptural steel frame, the Green Divider is the culmination of our efforts to incorporate botanic design into the built environment.
