Troubleshooting

Troubleshooting

Use this guide to diagnose and resolve common issues with your Green Divider — covering irrigation, lighting, pumps, connectivity, and hardware components.

Irrigation Issues

Plants are wilting or appear underwatered

01

Check that the water tank has water. The red LED indicator or an app alert will fire when the tank is empty.

02

Verify irrigation timers are set and active in the app. Confirm the schedule is running at the correct frequency.

03

Check that all tubes are properly connected and not kinked or strained.

04

Ensure the check valve arrows are pointing up (toward the back of the unit). A backwards check valve will block flow.

05

Run a one-shot irrigation cycle via the app and observe whether water appears at the plant roots.

Water is pooling in the boxes and not draining

01

The Green Divider is a drainless system — some pooling after watering is expected.

02

If pooling persists for multiple days, reduce irrigation run time in the app.

03

For nursery pots, check that drainage holes are at the very bottom of the pot, not on the sides.

04

For directly planted boxes, reduce run time and allow dry-out periods between cycles.

05

Verify all four boxes are perfectly level — an unlevel box will cause water to pool on one side.

One or more pumps not running

01

Confirm the irrigation timer is active and the pump is assigned to that zone.

02

Run a one-shot test from the app for the affected zone.

03

Check that the pump tubing is connected — long tubing goes to pump input (left), short to pump output (right).

04

Check that the ILCU is receiving power (LED should be lit).

05

If the pump fails all checks, the tube may have exceeded its 2,000-hour rated lifetime. Replace the pump tubing.

Lighting Issues

One or more light bars not illuminating

01

Press the physical light switch on the unit and verify the bar responds.

02

Check wire connections at the lever wire nuts for that bar — confirm wire colors match.

03

Ensure the LED harness splitter is fully seated.

04

Try triggering the lights from the app rather than the physical switch.

05

If a single bar is dark while others work, the bar or its wiring connection is the most likely cause.

Lights not following the scheduled timer

01

Open the app and confirm the light schedule timer is active.

02

Check that the device is connected (Cloud Mode) or within Bluetooth range (Bluetooth Mode).

03

Perform an ILCU reset if the schedule was recently changed and is not applying correctly.

Connectivity Issues

Device LED not pulsing blue when adding to the app

01

Ensure the unit is powered on and the power supply is connected.

02

Perform an ILCU reset: unplug power, hold Mode Button, reconnect power, release when the blue pulse slows to one pulse per second.

03

Move closer to your WiFi router before attempting to add the device.

04

Confirm your network is 2.4GHz — the ILCU does not support 5GHz networks.

Device shows as offline in the app

01

Check that your WiFi network is active and the router is working.

02

Verify the device is within WiFi range. Concrete walls and metal frames can reduce signal.

03

Unplug and replug the power supply to restart the ILCU.

04

Switch to Bluetooth Mode temporarily to confirm the unit is functional.

05

Re-add the device in the app if it remains offline after a restart.

Hardware Issues

Red LED is lit on the unit

01

The red LED indicates the water tank is empty or the liquid level sensor cannot detect water.

02

Refill the tank with water. Use reverse osmosis or treated water when possible.

03

If the red LED persists after refilling, check the liquid level sensor connection at the ILCU.

04

Verify the sensor wire is routed through the tank hole with the sensor body inside the tank and the hex nut secured externally.

ILCU needs to be removed or replaced

01

Disconnect all check valves from the ILCU cage.

02

Lift the cage clear of the base box.

03

Disconnect the tubing and four cables.

04

See the Care & Maintenance guide for full ILCU removal and reinstallation steps.
